5 Thanksgiving-based Activities to Enjoy This November

November is here, which means that Thanksgiving break is right around the corner! Whether your kids gets the whole week off or just a few days, you’ll still be looking for activities to keep them occupied, which is why our team at Drama Kids International compiled a list of five things to do over Thanksgiving break.

1. Make a pumpkin turkey centerpiece. This idea is both enjoyable and easy, which makes it a winning activity in our books! Pumpkins and fall go hand in hand, just like turkeys are synonymous with Thanksgiving, so why wouldn’t you want to put the two together? All you’ll need for this project is a small pie pumpkin, construction paper in fall colors, crayons or markers, scissors, glue, double stick tape and a turkey centerpiece template! The rest can be left up to your child’s creative mind!

2. Give thanks with these pinecone turkeys. Thanksgiving is time to remember to give thanks, and these pinecone turkeys can help your child do just that! You’ll need some pinecones, construction paper, “googly” eyes and glue to make it come to life. This activity gives you the chance to discuss with your child what he or she is thankful for!

3. Break out some boat races for Thanksgiving. With something that is fun and even educational, you can help keep all the children at your Thanksgiving Day feast occupied with this entertaining “boat” race! All you need is a small milk carton and a few moments pre-turkey day to help make this boat race come to life!

4. Make turkey tracks. If you’ve got artsy kiddos under your roof, the chance to paint their own turkey tracks is surely one they will love. Break out the pipe cleaners, paper and some kid-friendly paint—and let them get down to the creating! Be sure to display their artwork around the house for the Thanksgiving feast.

5. Enjoy falls colors with pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin seeds will come front and center with this art project, which will give your kids the chance to create their own beautiful fall-colored tree. Pick out some kid-safe paints, mix them in with pumpkin seeds and once they are dried, your little ones can let their creative side take over!

We hope that these ideas prove to be excellent Thanksgiving break activities for your family, and we can’t wait to see what is created!
